Problem - Intel HD 520 - PS stopped working on create new..
Hi,
I have a problem with using Intel HD 520 display adapter and Photoshop. If I disable graphics acceleration in Prefs->Performance I can launch PSD files. If gfx accel. is enabled PS immediately crashes and error message says 'Photoshop 2017 has stopped working...'
Graphics acceleration and my PS install used to work just fine until about 3-4 weeks ago. My theory ATM is that Adobe released some PS update that does no longer support Intel HD 520 properly..
Things I've tried:
-Searching for lavasoft.dll in c:\win\system32 , this has never been or is on my computer. ( ref. google search is full of this solution for 'PS has stopped working')
-Uninstall all CC apps -> restart -> run Adobe CC cleaner tool -> clean all -> restart -> reinstall CC and PS -> No joy, same error.
-The same as above one more time to be sure. -_-
-I'm running latest Intel HD 520 driver as available on Lenovo's pages. (24th July 2017)

As I typed the line above I realised that's about the same time as PS started crashing... I went to Display Adapter Properties in Device Manager and selected 'Roll back driver' (or similar in English). It actually worked! Rolled back to driver date 18th January 2017 and PS is working fine now.
So I can't run the latest Intel HD 520 driver but I'll just live with this for now. If anyone has suggestions on how it might work with latest driver I would be interested in hearing them!
If anyone has a similar issue with HD 520 maybe this can be of help!
HCFS.
