Problem Renaming Catalog

I just updated Lightroom Classic from v13 to v14.  I wanted to rename my catalog to reflect the change after it was converted.  I used the new File / Rename Catalog procedure.  After I put in the new name it closed Lightroom and before it reopened, I got the message that it couldn't rename the catalog.  See the screenshot.

Jeff, you are in the Photoshop forum 🙂

Check folder permissions? I found that on Win 10, upgrading to LrC V14 required me to change the Authenticated Users permissions (Advanced)  to Full Control, even though all the other groups already had full control.

I have done the rename procedure several time on both Mac and Win with no issues at all.

Hi i have just upgraded my computer from intel imac to imac M4 (OS Sequoia 15.1.1) . Lighroom Classic V14.1 running fine and all photos opening and i can use new AI tools but catalog still showing as V12 ! This isn't supposed to be possible. I have tried deleting lrc V14.1 and reinstalling but no prompts to upgrade catalog and still v12. i am beginning to think catalog has upgraded following migration to new computer and is the correct version but version name has not. Help please Stewart

Stewart, as you suspected, it sounds like your catalog got upgraded.  Otherwise it wouldn't work with the latest version of LRC.  It really doesn't matter what the name of the catalog is as long as it is upgraded.  Just for consistency, I renamed mine using the File/Rename Catalog procedure.  As you can see, I had a problem because my catalog folder was set to read-only.  Once that was fixed, I went ahead and renamed the catalog files.  I hope that helps.

Thanks KR for responding.  Sorry, I thought I clicked on the button for the Lightroom Classic forum.

For some reason my Catalog Folder was set to read-only.  I unchecked the read-only box and now I was able to rename my catalog.  Thanks!!
