Question

Problem with Graphic Card

I've got a problem i just can't solve.

Some filters like 'Oil Paint' are suddenly greyed out. During my research for a solution i found out that i have to check the option 'Use Graphic Processor' in the settings for 'Performance'. But then i saw that this option greyed out too and the description says 'Photoshop detected an error in your display driver. Update or reinstall the driver and check Use Graphics Processor to retry.'.

So i had to search for a solution to fix this, aswell. For this i've found several solutions like deleting a file named 'sniffer' in the program files...but it isn't there! 😕😕 I've also installed the newest driver of my graphic card. Still doesn't work.

So now i'm at a loss and don't know what to do. Need help, plz.
I'm using a Macbook Pro (Mid 2012) with Photoshop 22.3.1, OS Catalina and graphic card NVIDIA GeForce GT 650M.

Thanks in advance for your support.

Greetings,
Sahin

This article suggests disabling CUDA

Another thought is to disable card switching

Hi,
thx for your answer.

I've already installed a CUDA-driver. But it didn't help, so i've uninstalled it.
Disabling card switching i new for me. I'll try it. 👍

Sahin

Ok. I would suggest restarting your MBP after doing this.

Resetting Preferences is another idea
