Problem with shadow on shapes. Can't turn off.

Hi, with every shape I make there seems to be a drop shadow automatically added that i can't remove. My layer effects don't show any drop shadows and there's no feathering applied to the marquee tool. Has anyone encountered this problem and knows how to solve? Thanks : )

SOLVED IT! User error - shapes were nested in a folder with a layer effect applied - doh! Thanks all

@moxifiy

You replied to a 4-year-old thread. If your issue is the same as the OP's, then don't add shape layers to a group that has drop shadow effect. You can also take layers out of the group or remove the Effect from the group.

If your issue is different, please start new thread and show screen shots, including your Layers panel. Resize it taller and wider so we can see all of it.

Next time you should post a screen capture the include Photoshop UI  particularly the layers palette so we could see which layer have layer styles.  What you posted just showed the document's composite image no layer information at all
