Problem with Text displaying in PS 2020

I seem to be having a problem with editing existing text, or the way it displays. I'll select the existing text, then key in the new text where it should replace the existing text. Instead, the new text overlays the old text. It isn't until after I save the file, close it, then reopen it that the change will display properly.  Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Thanks.

I am having the same problem in PS 21.2 - When using the type tool you lay it down and it comes up with Lorem Ipsum and then when you type the text you want it overlays and you can't see it. When you move it, it ghosts over the old one also. I hate this. I might revert back to 21.1 until they fix it. I DID find that if you turn off the layer just under it (or the Background Layer) and then turn it back on it seems to make the ghosting go away. At least until you edit or move the text layer again. Better than saving, closing and reopening. Really really annoying.

Actually, I just noticed I'm using 21.2 also. I had Legacy Compositing turned on previously to temporarily fix another problem I was having with shadows not displaying properly. I'll try your suggestion as well. Thanks so much for your input. Much appreciated.

Hi

Try deselecting legacy compositing in preferences and restarting Photoshop to see if it helps
