problems importing and exporting images CS6

Please help! I got Siera 10.12.2   Suddenly got several problems at ones. When opening a document it appears in the layer, and canvas is empty, but it would open another identical document. When opening a new doc. the canvas is mostly black with straps. When trying to save as either PNG or JPG it results with an empty document with no excepts.  Thanks a lot.

    I read your post as meaning you just got Sierra.

    I would try resetting the preferences first:

    Preferences in Photoshop

    CS6 may not run on Sierra.

    You may want to use Time Machine to go back to the old operating system.

    I HAVE BEEN working with photoshop for months and these problems occurred suddenly.
