problems with 2021 upgrade

Since I have upgraded to Photoshop 2021 having lots of problems, cannot open any picture

I went on the support chat, and the gentleman that I spoke to, told me that I had to upgrade my GPU to be able to use the new update. As that isn't an option for me, he then advised that I revert to the older version. I have done that, and it is worse now! As soon as I get to  a certain amount of layers, the program slows down, to an unworkable level. Up until the latest update, I have had minimal to no issues, and now, I can't even use the program!!! I've been trying all day to talk to the suppport again, but I can't get through to them. I don't know what to do.

Edit> Preferences> Performance> Deselect Use Graphics Processor

    By disabling the GPU you will lose some functionality that requires it

    Features that won't work without a GPU

    If your graphics processor is unsupported or its driver is defective, the following Photoshop features won't work:

    • 3D

    • Flick Panning
    • Oil Paint

    • Render – Flame, Picture Frame, and Tree
    • Scrubby Zoom

      I have the same problem. My photoshop no longer works since upgrading to 2021 it has this error "Could not complete your request due to program error" that pops up regardless of which file type I open or try to create new. I have to force quit each time. Is Adobe going to address this issue? I have client deadlines and losing money daily. How can I reinstall an older version until Adobe fixes this issue? Help!

      I have also upgraded to Photoshop 2021 and cannot open any picture and when trying to close picture or the program I get the answer " not possible because of a program error". Photoshop 2021 is not possible to use. I have to restart PC to get out of the photoshop program.

      I have the same issue.  Since the upgrade, I am unable to open a new or existing file and have the same "...program error" message.
