Proper way to get pixel data for bitmap?

I've been trying to access the document layers pixel data in order for me to stream a bitmap to my service. The only thing I could find was PSBitmap but I still can't access it.

Anyone have a way to access this, or a doc that goes over it? I can't seem to find anything.
