PS 19.1.3 crashes with Color Efex Pro 4 and other Nik filters

I can open and use this filter but when I click OK to return to PS it crashes everytime.

The PS screen returns and I see Loading Image and Preparing Image but it crashes just after it starts Scaling Image.

I have fully uninstalled and reinstalled the Nik collection but this has not made a difference.

Any help or advice appreciated.

This problem occurred many times on Mac, have you tried to go to the Settings> After Clicking OK and change it to apply the filtered effect to the current layer.

Hi iwaddo77,

Sorry that Photoshop is crashing while using Nik filters.

Could you please let us know which operating system are you using? Does the app only crashes while scaling the images?

Hi, I am using macOS 10.13.4.

I can recreate this issue and every time PS crashes out.

I open the Color Efex Pro 4 filter and make the required adjustments then press OK to accept the adjustments and to save the image back to PS.

Whilst Color Efex Pro 4 is saving the changes back to PS a progress box appears to advise what it is doing.

The first two message boxes are Loading Image and Preparing Image, these do not cause a problem, the third message box, 'Scaling Image' always causes PS to crash completely.

Since my original post I have realised that Silver Efex Pro 2 also causes the same crash at the same place every time.
