Question

PS 20.0.2 transform rectangle not visible…

Just upgraded to the latest version of photoshop and found that when I attempt to transform 'something' the bounding rectangle is missing.

I can only see a magenta circle in the centre of the image.

What's going on?

Having worked with Adobe products for nearly 30 years this is pretty frustrating and along with the previous version's change to a different default transform behaviour - which doesn't match that found in illustrator - I'm finding CC products are less and less conducive to working quickly - so I'm now in the process of downloading previous versions to get back to a point where I can just get on with business. grrrr.

Same issue. Started after updating to new version of Photoshop.

    Create a new file.

    Add some text.

Select the text with the move tool (V).

At this point: No transform controls display even though the layer is selected...

Selecting "Edit | Transform | Scale" throws error message "Could not transform because the initial bounding box is empty."

I have tried recreating the preferences file using Shift+Ctrl+Alt at startup.

    Hi

Not seeing the issue here with the transform, one thing you could try is setting the Drawing Mode to Basic in Advanced Settings and restarting Photoshop

Thanks, I'll give this a try later in the day.

I've downgraded to an earlier version so I can get on with some work…
