PS 2020 - Suddenly won't create NEW files or IMPORT images

Question

It seems PS 2020 has a problem. Firstly it failed to export a block with a transparent gradient, so I relaunched, now it won't create NEW files (unless I use Legacy interface), and now will not import any image, either via a drag and drop or Place Embed.

Previously working fine. What is recommended to reset the program?

Have you tried to reset your Photoshop Preferences? Here is a help page with instructions on how to do it:
