Dear Abobe staff,

this is very very very very fustrating.
Each and everytime a new update of PS is released Wacom compatibility just gets messed up!
This is like the 3rd or 4th time I have had this kind of troubles.

PROBLEM:
I have custom keys set on my Wacom Pen. After one or two minutes brushing, the pen keys don't respond and the brush functionality gets stuck.
Instead of brushing, it goes into increase-decrease brush size mode (ctrl+option drag on Mac).

SOLUTION:
Restarting the system.

MAIN CONCERN:
You guys understand a retoucher cannot restart the system every 3 minutes, this is just Impossible!!!

So who's falt is this time? Wacom or Adobe.
I guess you will ping-pong the responsability one another AS USUAL....
If anyone of you colleague users has a fix for this please write me.

Cheers.

A very unsatisfied PS user.

P.S.
before you ask
OS - Catalina 15.5.5

Wacom Intuos Pro PTH-860
PS CC 21.1.3

SOLUTION:

Reverting back to driver 6.3.38-3

PROCESS:

I'm posting the solution and just give you guys a quick brief for you to know.
A guy from adobe support contacted me and made me do several tests:
- reinstalling the intuos PRO

- reinstalling PS
- reverting back to an older version of Photoshop that didn't have this problem (in my case it was v21.1.2)

after some trial and error it seemed like reverting back to the previous Wacom Driver worked.

I hope it helps.

my current settings are now:
OS - Catalina 15.5
PS CC 2020 - v 21.1.3
Wacom INUTOS PRO - PTH-860 driver 6.3.38-3

I can not give you a solution for you problem because I use Windows.  Pen support on windows and pen support are different because of the operating systems.  There are actually two Pen Interfaces on Windows. However Adobe Broke Photoshop WinTab interface in it 21.1 update and has not fixed.  Unfortunately for me that was the Pen interface I was using with my Wacom Intuos Pro Tablet and Photoshop. After 21.1 update Photoshop tools became erratic with my Wacom Pen.   I had to switch from the WinTab interfaces to Windows INK interface.   While Photoshop tools work reliably with my Wacom pen then. Some operations are have problems like expanding and contracting layer groups in the layers palette using the pen. Windows INK may also have other issues I'm not sure.  Because I use Photoshop CC 2019 wintab interface.  My Pen buttons never changed function However the Pen operating became funky after 21.1 update using wintab support.

Do not remove old working version of Photoshop.  You never can be sure that Adobe will not break the current version of Photoshop.  Every new update seems to have some problems.

Hi

This forum is answered by volunteer users. We don't work for Adobe.

Do you have the latest driver for your tablet (latest is 6.3.39-1)?

Which version of Photoshop are you using (latest is v21.1.3) ?

The tablet driver allows settings specific to a Photoshop version - did you set any of these , which would explain why you lose them if you update PS.

Hi dave,
I have just submitted the message before sending it to Adobe.  Forgot to tell that. LOL

The info are on my original post but I will  repost them:

OS - Catalina 15.5.5

Wacom Intuos Pro PTH-860 - driver 6.3.39-1
PS CC 21.1.3

This problem is already known. It happened with Photoshop v 21.1.1 and I am not the only one  who experience this.
You can just type PS 2020 "sticky modifier keys" and you can see for yourself.
Modifiers key get stuck. In my case only in the pen, but according to some others in the keyboard too.

PS v 21.1.2 was fine, wacome released a driver update (6.3.37-1 solved the problem if I remember correctly)
Now with the lastest PS release the problem Popped up Again.
I assigned the "option" key command to one of my pen buttons, but after like 1-2 mintes of work it gets stuck and I have to use OPT key on my keyboard.
I hope I gave you a bit more of context here.
Bye.
