PS 25.5.1 shows as document icon in task bar

CC just updated by PS 2024 to 25.5.1 and the icon in the task bar is a document type not the PS icon.  See attached.

I've rebooted and deleted it and reestablished it from the Win 11 Start menu, but it's still a document.  PS loads OK from it, but has anyone else expereinced this and knows how to fix it?

TIA, MB

Mysteriously, with no change made by me and no reboot, overnight the icon on the taskbar has reverted back to the PS icon.  I opened PS yesterday morning, spent time editing then went away leaving it open.  The icon was the document icon when I rose from the computer.  Just now, it's the correct icon.

Yes, just delete it and make a new one. That's standard procedure.

Taskbar icons are specific to that version. The old icon is orphaned and no longer valid when the old version is uninstalled.

That said, I would strongly recommend unchecking "remove old versions". Keep the old one around until you're confident everything works as it should.

Also, Photoshop versions should be installed and uninstalled in version order to avoid breaking file associations. Last in, first out. If you later decide to remove the old, first uninstall the newest going backwards. Then reinstall the one you want to keep. This is just basic precaution.

As an old hand at this, I had deleted the previous version's icon.

As I said, the update was installed through the Creative Cloud process.

I would remove that from the Taskbar and go to

C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop 2024

right click on the Photoshop.exe, click Show more options

then click Pin to taskbar

Already tried that.  Just created a document icon.
