PS closes previously open file when I open a new one

Hi. Have been using PS for a long time and today this happened. Had psd and gif files open and when I opened I new one the previous just closed. What is it and how it can be fixed? Thank you!

Perhaps something is set for event Open Document in File > Scripts > Script Events Manager?

  • Which version of Photshop?
  • Which operating system?
  • Do you use tabbed viewing?
  • Is tthe GIF animated?
