PS edits to LR

Hi after a Lr export to PS and further edit in Ps, the edit does not show up in Lr and I can;t import the file from the drive because Lr thinks its the same file, even when i uncheck the don't import dupes, I have the file on the drive, but no connection to the PS edited in my catalouge.
