Question

PS exports PNGs at smaller size? ( Dimension wise? )

I have Illustartor set up at the same artboard size as Photoshop. Both are set to Pixels.

Resolution in photoshop is 300. Resolution is Illustrator is also set to 300 under Document Raster Effects.

When I copy something from Illustrator it paste into PS at the correct size. But when I export as a PNG from PS and bring it back into Illustrator the file size is SMALLER ( 2,000 width to a 300 in Illustrator ) on the artboard.

The Export settings for PNG have the right sizes. At 1x and nothing changed to it. Under both Quick export and export as.

When I export as Jpeg it stays the correct size.

There is a (feature? bug? design) issue in Photoshop where resolution metadata is either not or wrongly written into exported PNG files. This has changed with the different iterations of Export and doesn't work the same in Save and in Save for Web.

PNG files are not ideal for bringing into Illustrator anyway. Why not use JPEG or TIFF instead?

Another example. Selected all of these within the same PS file. Right click, quick export as PNG.
Dragged them into Adobe Illustrator. And one of them is bigger than the others?
