PS question: old version compatibility

Adobe published a list of all PS versions and the system requirements which are very definite but inaccurate. As one example they state the Mac OS for PS4 is v10.4.11-10.5.4 which means that only that range of OS will work with PS4 - that is what their statement says in no uncertain terms. However it is not true since our 26 MACs will run PS4 with OS far in advance of 10.5.4 - also this applies to many other Mac OS /PS applications. Adobe will not respond to this type of question or even discuss any of their PS versions UNLESS you are interested in buying the latest one.

System requirements means those operating systems upon which Adobe has tested that version of their software for it to run as expected. When CS4 was the current version and run on those operating systems then Adobe provided technical support.

Later operating systems may run the software but those are not tested environments nor supported by Adobe. If CS4 runs on later operating systems for you, then great.

I think what Adobe does is state which OS will work with what PS version without any issues. While older versions might work with a newer OS, Adobe will not guarantee that it will work.
