In PS6 OSX in a colouring layer managed to switch from the default colour picker, accessible via double clicking the layer colour thumbnail, to layer style with the blending options and cannot find a way to switch back to the default colour picker option, serious brain damage help please...

Looks like the color fill adjustment layer got rasterized somehow.

If you right click on the layer, there is a Rasterize Layer command or Layer>Rasterize>Fill Content or Layer.

You could make a new Color Fill layer directly above, then move the layer mask up to replace the blank layer mask on the newly created color fill layer and then of course delete the old layer.

Drag the small fx to the Trashcan icon at the bottom of the layers panel.

    Thanks for the reply.

Unfortunately, there isn't a fx like you show, which I recognise and know how to deal with.

The problem is only accessible if you double click the thumbnail associated with the layer in question, which would normally bring up the default colour picker option popup window as you would expect but instead it shows the layer style with blending options popup window.

This has happened a few times over the years and it happens when I do something wrong when selecting a layer to adjust or similar. Usually I'll just delete the problem layer and create a new one but on this occasion it's stopped me from getting a colour number to the green colour I've assigned to that layer, as per attached screen capture.
