PSD file & it's Properties

Usually, if we want to transfer a file from one folder to another folder, the file has be closed first, othewise transfer will not take place. But in case of PSD file this is not true. What is the reason for this?

    I am just testing with PNG saved from Photoshop, no need to close file in Photoshop before moving it to another folder, is that what are you asking? I am testing using Photoshop 25.0.0 on Windows 11 machine.

    Yes, but I did not try PNG, it is PSD.
