Question

PSDs turn all black when saved as jpeg

I just upgraded to the latest version of photoshop CC 20.0.0 and the weirdest thing happens when I have files with drop shadows or gradient layers. When I save as a jpeg the file goes solid black. When I preview the PSD in my finder it also appears black, but open it up in photoshop and everything looks normal. If I export for web to save a jpeg then the file saves normally. Any idea what's going on? Some weird default setting?

Go into Photoshop Preferences > Performance, and check "Legacy Compositing".

There is a new layer compositing engine in CC2019, presumably using the GPU for speed, which leaves it vulnerable to buggy video drivers.
