Question on Adobe Photoshop Version 14

When I open a picture in Adobe, I am trying to find out about the metadata. I do this by opening up the picture, clicking on file, then file info. When I click on file info I get a blank box. Is there some other feature that I need with the application? Maybe a patch or a plug in? Can you test to see if you're having this problem?
