Question

Random Closer or Crash of Software

Over the last 3 updates I've noticed the Software of Photoshop will randomly stop working and then crash, this is extreamly frustrating because if I am in the middle of an project I lose all of my work, even if I just saved the file. I've uninstalled Photoshop 5 times and reinstalled each time and still facing te same issue.

Has anyone else had the same Issue, does anyone have a fix or suggestions to a fix?

I've never recived an Crash Report but Iv have submitted the Bug Report a few times.
But I can explain in detail because its happening right now,
I start the program and almost as soon as it open the main page the program instantly closes, no sound no reports. It crashes with out reason.

It just happened to me too. It just closed the program, never asked to save anything, and the crash report thing didn't pop up. The only thing I can think that I changed was turning auto-saving off a couple of updates ago, when the splash pic was a superhero girl? Sorry, I'm so vague.

@Unit930 I'm not seeing any submitted crash reports from you in our system. If you haven't done so already, please submit all Crash Reports along with your email address. Instructions here: https://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/kb/submit-crash-reports.html That will help us diagnose the crash.

When Photoshop crashes, this is the first thing to do, try resetting your Photoshop preferences. Press and hold Alt+Control+Shift (Windows) or Option+Command+Shift (Mac OS) immediately after launching Photoshop. You will be prompted to delete the current settings. You can also reset preferences upon a quit if Photoshop is running by going into General Preferences>General>Reset on Quit.

(Mac OS only) Open the Preferences folder in the Library folder*, and drag the Adobe Photoshop CS Settings folder to the Trash.

If that doesn't fix the issue:
Go to Preferences > Performance... and uncheck Multithreaded Compositing - and restart Photoshop.
Still crashing?
Go to Preferences > Performance... click Advanced Settings... and uncheck "GPU Compositing" - then restart Photoshop. Still crashing?

Most often this is GPU/driver related.

Go to Help > System Info and paste the entire contents in a reply, and maybe we can narrow it down.
