Hello, my pictures are 16bit but become 8bit in Photoshop 2023. I read somewhere that this can be changed manually. Can anybody help please ? Thank you!

As long as you have set ACR to open in 16 bit depth, then that's how it opens in Photoshop.

Photoshop doesn't reduce bit depth on its own, unless you tell it to.

However, if you save out to jpeg, the jpeg specification doesn't support 16 bit depth. A jpeg will always be 8 bit. Not because of Photoshop, but because of the jpeg file format specification.

Hello, my raw images are 16bit but transform after being edited into another type of image, even though they are still mentioned as 16bit in Metadata Bridge Photoshop 2023. The path changes to 317939~2.PNG (RGB/16# in Photoshop 2023). I read somewhere that this could be because they are not recognised as 16bit in Photoshop and that this can be changed manually. Can anybody help me with this? Thank you!
