Re: Going back to default settings

Hello

I am just learning photoshop after being away from it for some time.

How do I reset my preferences to default?

My screen is full of precously opened pictures and I want to go back to welcome screen?

Also, When doing the first tutorial  the right side of my screen doesn't look anything like the one in the Tutorial. Meaning, the sizes are not on the right hand side, and neither is the color picker.

Please help would be greatly appreciated.

Start by reading the online help on basics of setting up the workspace, how to arrange palettes and all that stuff.

To show Home screen click on Home icon in the options bar.

To close all open files using single command go to File > Close All.

Hi

  • To reset preferences, go to Preferences > General > Reset Preferences on Quit
  • To change your workspace, start with Windows > Workspace > Essentials, followed by Windows > Workspace > Reset Essentials. Open other panels from the Window menu.
  • To clear the recently opened files from the Home Screen, go to File > Clear Recents

If your Workspace (arrangement of the panels) does not look the same after Resetting the Essentials Workspace, show a screen shot of what the tutorial is using.
