Question

Recommendation as to where to start

Now that I have way too much time on my hands I would like to learn more about scripting in Photoshop.  I have gone through the Adobe documentation.  I seem to be able to learn much better via video tutorials, that is just the way I am.

Does anyone have any recommendations on where to go to learn this from the beginning.  In a number of the links and forums I have viewed I get the feeling that a number of the subjects were taking me somewhere in the middle which I don't want.

I would be very appreciative if someone could point me in the right direction.  I do have some programming experience but not in many years.

I learn by looking at other people's code.  Go here: http://ps-scripts.com/bb/index.php

Look in the Help Me, Code Snippets, Photoshop Scripts, and Beta Testing sections for code written by Larry Ligon, Xbytor, and Mike Hale in particular.  I try to have comments in my code to explain what the code is doing.

You can also ask questions there in the Help Me section.

Look in Xtools for Xbytor's code.

You may want to look at Andrew's Photoshop Commander's section.
