Refine Edge Tool Not Working

In the Quick Selection Tool, the Refine Edge Tool is not working. Super frustrating. I updated ps, restarted, reset the tool, restored prefrences. I have not pluggins installed. Using latest macbook pro?

I can select the tool but it doesn't do anything???

hey i cant refine edges on my images

The old feature "Refine Edge" has been replaced with "Select and Mask" on the top menu bar.

Then use the 2nd down tool on the left margin to find the "Refine Edge Brush Tool" Keyboard shortcut R.
