Reinstalling Photoshop CS4

I'm running CS4 in Windows 7.  I need to reinstall CS4 which I updated from CS2 a few years ago.  I'm having intermittent problems with CS4 and I can't seem to use the bridge to open pictures.  Should I reinstall it over the existing program or should I delete the existing program and do a complete install?

Uninstall, then use the Cleaner Tool Use the Creative Cloud Cleaner Tool to solve installation problems to remove any settings that would cause problems on reinstall.

If you currently own discs, you may want a fresh downloadable installer instead.

Download Adobe Creative Suite 4 (CS4) products

Reinstall using your serial numbers and update the AAM

Adobe - Adobe Application Manager : For Windows : Adobe Application Manager

That part allows you to run your updates.
