Remove auto feather from a path selection

I've made a work path in psd, and when I select the path it used to give me a clear selection from the path. I think I touched some settings or something, now it always gives me this auto feather that I really hate. I just want a clear cut of stuff.

Does anyone know how to fix this, please?

Someone said edit it in quick mask mode and use levels to adjust it to a crisp selection, but I just want to get rid of this feather setting.

thank you Jane! There wasn't any feather applied in the option bar either.

But I actually found the correct setting right after I posted this but there's no option to delete the post...

Lol I'll just share the screenshots here in this reply in case other people were having the same issue.

It was actually really simple, just one click away.

It's where I changed the settings originally, I just forgot how to get there.

The feathering is on the selection (not the work path). Your screenshots don't show the options bar with a selection tool, but that's where the feathering setting is.

To fix it:

  • Save your work path with any name (to preserve it, just in case)
  • Deselect the selection (marching ants)
  • Choose a selection tool (such as Marquee), but don't make a selection
  • Change the feathering to zero "0" in the options bar.

You must have nothing selected for this to work.

Now convert your path to a selection again and it will not have the feathering.
