I have created a circular jpg photo in a square original. I have 2 questions.

- How do I zero opaque the surrounding pixels with CS6?

- If necessary to create a png copy, how do I deal with differnt dimensions, eg. round jpg and oval png?

I have a rectangular jpg photo that I used to create a round photo.  To remove the background, I found that a jpg cannot be used for transparancy but a png can. I now find that to use png, I am left with an oval photo.

Whar do I do to return my photo to round?

Hi jane. Please excuse my inexperience, but how do I show my screen shots, since I have not done this before.  Do I drag and drop, copy and paste or other?

Your question is confusing. All images are rectangles — they cannot be circles or squares. You cannot have a round JPEG or an oval PNG.

Transparency is supported in PSD, TIFF, and PNG, but not in JPEG. When you save a JPEG, the transparent area fills in with white.

What do you mean by "zero opaque"?

Please clarify what you are trying to do. A screenshot will help. You are on Photoshop CS6, but what is your OS and version?
