Remove Tool Glitch in Photoshop 25.0

Hello,

I have encountered a unusual issue with the Remove Tool in Photoshop since version 25.0. This problem did not exist in Photoshop 24, and despite reinstalling all Adobe apps, the issue persists.

Bug Details:

  • Version Affected: Photoshop 25.0
  • Issue Description:
    • The Remove Tool initially works as expected for a few strokes.
    • Afterward, it starts behaving as though the Shift key is being held down.
    • It no longer removes after each stroke and instead begins drawing straight pink lines.
    • The issue can sometimes escalate into erratic behavior.

Steps to Reproduce:

  1. Open Photoshop 25.0.
  2. Select the Remove Tool.
  3. Use the tool for a few strokes, observing normal behavior.
  4. Continue using the tool, and notice the shift in behavior as described above.

 

Additional Information:

  • This issue persists despite a complete uninstall and reinstallation of all Adobe apps.
  • All other functions in Photoshop seem to be working fine.

Is anyone else experiencing this glitch, or is it unique to my system? Your assistance in resolving this matter would be greatly appreciated.

Windows 11 Pro

I7 13700k 

Nvidia GTX 1070 with latest gameready drivers

RAM 64 GB DDR5

 

PS: Remove tool used with the method "more stable" and "faster", same glitch.

    The issue has been solved with the new update (Photoshop v 25.1).

    The remove tool now works normally.

    hi,

     

    i have installed the 25.1 (german version) and the problem still exists.

     

    the error-report shows:

    in the settings i already disabled "using graphic processor" and 

    the settings for the remove-tool are "stable".

     

    after clicking on the remve-tool there is a delay of a 1-2 seconds

    and the the window for the error-report appears.

     

    any ideas?

      The issue has been solved with the new update (Photoshop v 25.1).

      The remove tool now works normally.

        I have the same issue, this problem is so annoying. Sometimes the Remove tool also won't process its work unless you switch focus away from photoshop and then back.

          Just a few minutes ago, I rolled back to the previous version of Photoshop, which is 24.7.1, and I can confirm that the Remove Tool is now functioning perfectly. The downside is that Generative Fill and Generative Expand are missing...

          I've experimented with various options, and the result remains consistent. However, when I disable the Graphics Processor, the Remove Tool functions correctly. Yet, this action causes the CPU to reach 100% usage, leading to a noticeable slowdown in the overall performance of Photoshop

            Thanks for the comprehensive video and screenshots which allowed me to try the same settings.

            I couldn't replicate that here. When using cloud processing I started to see the odd occasion when the drawing of the pink lines did not appear immediately, which in turn then delayed the removal, but could not create the straight pink lines you show in your video.
