Render video with transparent background

What can I use instead of quicktime codec to render video with transparent background in photoshop? Since I have uninstalled quicktime because of the security alerts and recommendations of the security communities it is not available on my windows computer. Is there something else I can do? If so what would be the solution?

Thanks,

Joe

Uncompressed avi accepts transparency some codecs like the one from Techsmith has 32 bit rendering. I see openexr has a checkbox for alpha channel.

Keep in mind with out a codec you could see dropped frames depending on your computer and the screen resolution of the video.

The advantage of image sequences is you can specify the start timecode should you need to rerender a portion of the video also since it is stills, extremely editable in photoshop.

You can always use image sequences, which most video apps will happily accept for further processing.

As far as I know Photoshop CS6 and newer installers install a subset of Adobe Media Encoder and some presets you can use into Photoshop.   You can not add additional preset with Photoshop's subset of Adobe media encoder. None of the supplied preset support tranaparency as far as I can see.
