Rendered video plays fast, audio has normal playback

Hi

I am using Photoshop to compile various clips together and render out at 30fps. All of the source material - video footage, animations, screen captures play fine using media players, and they play fine in my sequence during the RAM preview. However when I render it out, the screen capture plays really quickly, and shows the last frame until the next clip. the audio plays at the normal speed however.

If anyone could shed some light on how to fix this, that would be amazing.

As Mylenium states - more information would help us to home in on the issue.

I do have a thought though. You mention that just the  screen capture clip is causing an issue. There is a chance that this may be captured with a variable framerate which could result in the type of issue you describe. Try running it through software such as handbrake to convert it to your desired frame-rate and ensure handbrake is set to output at a constant frame-rate , before you import it into Photoshop.

If it is not that - then please give more information.

Thanks guys

I did some more investigation and found there was something strange going on with the screen captures and the media players must be compensating / adjusting playback rate. Anyway I've ended up importing the frames in to photoshop, and because I don't need buttery smooth playback for those segments, I upped the delay on each frame and rendered out to 30fps to use in my sequence. I've not heard of handbrake, but I'll look it up, sounds like it could save me some time.

Thanks guys and hopefully this is useful to someone else with the same problem.

Nobody can tell you much without exact specs of the source materials as well as output settings and how you verify the output, including relevant system info, player used, hardware acceleration settings and so on. This is a complex subject.
