Question

Replace Content not working in previously saved Cloud files since new PS 2022 updates

Was trying to use the Replace Content feature to change out images yesterday in Photoshop 22 in a previously saved Adode Cloud PSD file, but it would not open my laptop files to choose the file to use for the replacement.

I right clicked on the layer in the Layers menu, and clicked Replace Contents.

In the popup box I was offered the option to choose the new replacement file from my cloud files or from my computer files as normal.

I clicked the computer option and then nothing happened. No popup box appeared to allow me to search for the file on my computer that I wished to use instead of the current content.

Obviously really annoying as the files are not in my cloud docs. They're on my laptop.

Does this mean the only workaround is to store everything I need in the cloud for each project???

Please fix this bug!

Photoshop was working perfectly until this recent update!

Could you save a copy of the affected Cloud Document and share with Edit Ability (click the Share button in the upper left of the Photoshop UI) with me so I can try and repro. You can DM me a link.

Hi

Have renamed the UXP folder just like you suggested but it didn't fix the issue.

I often create templates for my Etsy shop Mockup images as PSD files. Mainly because I can usually swap out the images really quickly and easily using the Content Replace function.

The Adobe Cloud PSD files that I just recently created in the last few days are the only ones that I seem to be having this issue with. My older files that I kept copies of on my laptop are not having the same issues at all. They're still all working just fine.

So it's something in this recent update that's causing all the problems.

I am running Photoshop version 23.2.2 on a 7 month old Dell Inspiron 5515 with 16 GB RAM and an 8 core (16 Thread) processor. So I don't think it's my laptop.

Thanks in advance.

Try renaming the UXP folder
Rename the UXP folder to ~UXP.
• (Windows) Navigate to C:\Program Files\Common Files\Adobe\UXP
• (macOS) Navigate to Macintosh HD/Library/Application Support/Adobe/UXP

If that fixes it, I'd like to get a copy of the renamed UXP folder.
