resolution changes when exporting to jpg

resolution of 300 ppi (correctly shown on bottom-left) changes to 96 dpi in the exported jpg file

(seen in the file properties/details, also shown when jpg is re-opened in photoshop)

version photoshop 23.2.1

re-exporting older files that were correct at these days, now show the same problem.

Save as does NOT allow saving as a JPG! I am running into the same problem. File is set to 300 dpi, export is going out at 96 with no option to change

Don't use Export. Despite the name it is only for web use, where resolution is not important is not set. (It is not set to 72 bit left unset; it may be different depending on the app you use to check). For press/print use you must use Save As or (in recent versions of Photoshop) Save A Copy.
