Responsive Freeze on 25.7

So I updated to the latest photoshop and been using it for afew days. But every day, almost every session, it will freeze randomly. The UI is "responsive" in that the elements still change colour when I hover over them, however clicking does nothing. If I close the program with windows, the "Save" dialogue box comes up and buttons highlight but I can't click on them.  Eventually, even the UI elements freeze and stop responding. My task manager would normally say "Not Responding" but this time it says nothing. And I have to spam END TASK to forcifully close and ALWAYS loose my work.

I tried backtracking to a much older photoshop and it removed my issue. I've started slowly backtracking through each version from the latest, however 25.6 also has this issue. I'm trying 25.5 now. I have a strong PC and I use photoshop for illustration work.

No matter which Photoshop version I downgrade to, I run into a problem in some form or another. This is rediculous. Literally been using photoshop for over a decade and the one time I decide to pay for it persoanlly is when I have the worse experience. I'm cancelling my subscription and unistalling this buggy mess of a programme. The pirated version of photoshop was literally the most stable, stress free experience I had.

Hi! Im having the same problem, im drawing using a wacom intuos pro and suddenly my Photoshop just freezes, like you i can see the color change on the botons at hovering but there is no response at all, even using ctrl s the botons at that pop up window do not respond at all so i just have to shut it down via task manager...
Were you able to solve it? Im kinda getting angry because i just paid the creative cloud subscription -_-

Someone posted a recommended fix here, I haven’t tried it yet. I reverted to an older version of photoshop for now. Will try the fix later in future

Hello! May I ask if your problem has been resolved? I have encountered the same problem recently, and I feel very distressed about it. I am using a brand new system that has just been reinstalled and have tried deleting the "Adobe Photoshop 2024 Settings" folder in "Roaming" to reset my Photoshop preferences, but this issue has not been resolved.

Hi, My issue still hasn't been resolved. I found that using versions of Photoshop BETA prior to 25.5 doesn't have this problem. So, I'm currently using a version before 25.5.

@TheArty232 try manually resetting your Photoshop preferences

Remember to back up your settings before doing the preference reset
