Hi all,

I had to open photoshop via Rosetta to be able to use my photoshop extensions, otherwise they are not there. However, I am using removal tool all the time and it is not available while using Rosetta. Does that mean I have to chose what to use??  As 1 I can use only via rosetta and another without rosetta only. Really getting crazy now with the apple and questioning why I switched from windows...😭😭😭

Hi @Ana32950700vt7r yes - per the documentation running PS in Rosetta mode disables advanced features that need the M1/ARM processors to work.

My first reaction when seeing a post like this is to determine the need of the depricated plugin/extension and if vital - reaching out to the developer to have them provide an updated version. M1 series has been out a number of year so this isn't a new issue.

Hi. I have M3 pro but think there is no difference beween M1. My first experience with macbook so all the info i find online is like a black forest for me... i am using 2 tools mostly : remove tool (cannot be run on rosetta), and my extension that can only run on rosetta. So... in my case I just have to chose which one i prefer more? No other option of using both? I find it super crazy while paying so much for a laptop for using it for eding fast and then cannot use it properly. 😂

@Ana32950700vt7r your blame is misplaced - your angst needs to be with the extension developer. M1 was the first Apple ARM chip released in 2020 which means they have not updated in 3 years. M3 is the latest but it doesn't matter in relation to the issue.

What specific extension are you using? There may be more compatible alternatives.
