Is there a way to run a script or an action as soon as a document opens?

Menu File>Scripts>Script Event Manager.  Note not perfect the event will not be triggered when the event is initiated from within an action or script. They only seem to get triggered when you use Photoshop GUI to initiate an event like open document.

Thanks for this info. I will check it out when I am home. On my Laptop I have PSCS and this has no Event Manager.
