Save for Web (Legacy) in Photoshop 2020

It's about time that Adobe fixed this issue! I have searched all the existing community support posts and this has NEVER been fixed.

This only happens every once in awhile. It was working last week but now...

I'm trying to save image slices.

Anytime I try to "Export - save for web (legacy)" I get this prompt:

The operation could not be completed

An unknown operating system error has occurred

I have restarted, change privacy settings etc. Nothing has worked.

How the *** are you suppose to save image slices without using this export function?

The feature has been replaced by Export As – you can read about the various ways of saving a file in this comprehensive article by Conrad Chavez:

Yes, absolutely useless, because you have to set everything again every time.

I feel your frustration! Make sure you don't have a hashtag (#) or any other weird character in the folder- or filename. That did the trick for me.
