Every time I try to save for web, I get a message saying "Could not complete this operation. An unknown error has occurred." Any ideas?

Hi Scott,

Can you tell us what version of Photshop you're using? And it might help if you could tell us a little more about the file you are trying to save? Are you using the Export>Save for Web (Legacy) option? Have you tried resetting your preferences? And one last question, what color space is your file in?

If you could give us some more information to work with I believe we can help get you're problem solved.

It's Adobe Photoshop CC 20.0.9. I have tried many different file types, including .psd, .jpg, and .png files. They all give me the same error message. I have used File > Export > Export As, but it is not compressing the files as much as Save for Web used to. I am using RGB color space.

Thank you for your help.

Thanks for the information. Has this been happening the whole time you have been using 20.0.9? Or did it just start happening?

A couple of thoughts: Have you tried resetting your preferences?

Here is a link to the help page with a video that will show you how to reset your preferences:

Also, I'm including information on the Graphics Processor (GPU). I'm not sure that is the problem, but it is worth looking into. https://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/kb/photoshop-cc-gpu-card-faq.html

Let us know if either one of these is helpful or not!
