Save for web save dialog opening on wrong monitor.

I recently reset the display preferences on my Mac (Mac OS 12.2) and ever since the Save for Web save dialog box (not the main Save for Web window) opens on my second monitor. I have that monitor positioned to the left of my main one. If I move it to the right side then the save dialog opens up on the furthest left side of the main monitor. It's almost as if it's trying to open up as far left as it can. 

 

This is happening in every version of photoshop on my computer even if I delete the preferences. It doesn't happen with Save for Web in illustrator, though. 

 

I have the Displays Have Separate Spaces thing turned off so my dual monitor setup acts in the old way where the menu bar and dock are only on one screen (the main screen where the save dialog won't show up). All other dialog windows in Photoshop open properly on the main screen.

 

I'm not sure what else to try at this point. I know Save for Web isn't technically supported anymore but this had been working fine until I reset the display preferences and it's still an important part of my workflow that is in constant use.

Have you tried changing your screen resolution?


Ok, I changed the resolution to a higher one (more screen realestate) and it opened up in the bottom left corner as it should. I changed it back to normal and it still opens on the left monitor instead. 

 

OH. I think I figured it out. I tried sliding my secondary monitor higher in the arrangement panel in the display prefs. As long as I have it just high enough, then the save dialog stays on the main screen. If it's lower then the dialog ends up on the left screen. I must have had it sitting just a little higher before I reset the display preferences. Either way it should be showing up in the center of the screen, but that hasn't happened for a long time and I'm assuming never will since it's EOL.

Sounds silly but have you tried to just move the Save for Web window to the right location then quit and relaunch Photoshop?

Mine holds in whatever position I move it to on my Mac with dual monitors and Mac OS 12.5.1

    For sure. I've tried that with resetting the preferences. I've also tried disconnecting the monitor and doing it on the Macbook Pro screen (which is my secondary when the external monitor is connected) thinking maybe doing it in a single monitor environment would have an effect. Nothing seems to work, though. It is also odd that it's happening the same way in multiple versions of Photoshop that were all fine previously. The only thing I haven't tried is resetting my display preferences again, which I was trying to avoid, but might be worth a try.

    I have mine on dual monitors and my Save dialog box after clicking save from Save for Web shows in the bottom left of the same screen.
