Save raw images as jpegs in photoshop, as a default.

For years now, when I have a camera raw (CR2) image open in photoshot (after having done edits in camera raw),  I have had the default "save as" format as JPEG.  But that seems to have changed, probably with a newer version of photoshop.  The "save as" default now shows as PSD.  And in the format drop down box, JPEG is no longer even showing as an option, only JPEG 2000 (never used that format, and unsure of what it actually is).

I just spent an hour on the phone with an Adobe support person, who had me running in circles, but I got no clear understanding of why and how, my previous default actions have changed, and how I can return to my simple default save to jpeg, from a camera raw image.

Has this possibility been permanently removed?

Thank you for any help.

JC

I cannot believe that the support person I spent an hour with on the phone did not alert me to the new "enable legacy save as" check box!  But thanks to the community here, I did just find it.

So, I guess that one has to do that now to enable "jpeg" as a save option.  This answers part of my issue.

Still remaining is just how do I make jpeg as the default option.  Is this possible?

Additionally, if all of the edits are completed in ACR, with no edits performed in Photoshop, you could just save directly to JPEG from ACR, either singly or in batch.
