Question

Saving a logo in every file and screen printer says it is opening as jpeg.

I am not a professional but I have been working on modifying our already existing logos. I took one of our logos and used the clipping mask to create a flag in the words for a social media post for the 4th of July. My bosses loved it so much that they wanted to put it on t-shirts.

I sent it to the screen printer and she said she needed a high vector file. So it was saved in high resolution, no background, saved in .png, .jpg, .psd, .ai, photoshop .eps, pdf, .svg and she said ALLLL of them open as .jpeg and none of them will work.

What am I missing?

Resolution independent vector graphics are preferred for print because they can be scaled up or down without any loss in quality.

Raster images such as jpg, png, bmp are resolution dependant which is just a fancy way of saying they are the sum total of their pixels.  Changing the number of pixels reduces image quality (bluriness) which is poor for print.

I'm guessing your original image was a raster.  Unfortunately, you can't just save it as another file type and expect a raster to magically turn into a high quality vector graphic.   Depending on complexity, it may be possible to make a new vector graphic with the Image Trace tool in Illustrator.   Take your time and be patient.

You do not need a vector file to print a t-shirt size image.  In fact printer print pixels they are not plotters that draw images with vector graphics.  They Print Raster image files the paint in pixels. You need a quality raster image. The vector file would need to be rendered as a high quality raster file for printing.  Photoshop has no problem producing high quality raster images if you have  high quality pixels and the required number of pixels  to print the image size you want at the print resolution you want.

Did you create you logo  with Photoshop Vector tools? Are the layer in the Photoshop document Vector layers and adjustment layers?  I do not know why a printer would require a Vector file.  I would think a high quality large image would do.   The quality may not need to be grate. The image will most likely soak into the t-shirt fabric and lose some sharpness.
