Saving psd file to pdf and font changes color

Question

One text box and just a line of text here or there are changing font color when I save the file from psd to pdf. I have tried saving it using all the pdf/x options as well as none; sometimes with the embed color profile checked and other times not. I have tried copying the text from AI, google and email into new text boxes. That helped to reduce the amount of words that have the incorrect font, but didn't solve the problem completely. I haven't been able to find anything that gives me a clear answer of what I should do. Any help is appreciated.

Thank you for your response! I appreciate your input!  I wholeheartedly agree that Photoshop is less than ideal for page layout files, but was updating an existing file and figured it would be fine for what was needed. I ended up opening the psd file in Illustrator and saved the pdf there- which looks perfect.

I suspect the effect is the result of various Layers interacting with various Blend Modes etc. and furthermore it might make a difference whether the layered image is RGB or CMYK.

But as always it applies that

• Photoshop is not a page layout application

• its pdf creation is sub-optimal

• type-heavy designs and the creation of print-ready pdfs in general are better done in applications like Indesign, Illustrator or other dedicated programs (Adobe is not the »only game it town« after all)
