Question

Saving to Jpeg washes out the colours... please help

Please, I'm begging for help.

Ive endlessly searched forums, help sites, asked fellow PS users and none of the colour profile tips work. I have resinstalled and restored settings to detault twice now and even that has not fixed this issue.

I create an image saving as psd, and once it is complete and i save in Jpeg or png it views on sites, image viewer and other programs as washed out colours (see provided image examples).

If anybody has any idea of how to fix this, i would be eternally grateful.

You may have a defective monitor profile, possibly delivered through Windows Update (but originating from the display manufacturer).

Windows "Photos" is not color managed and does not use the monitor profile at all. Normally Photoshop is more accurate, but if the profile is defective only Photoshop and other color managed software will be affected.

Go into Windows Color Management and replace your current monitor profile with sRGB IEC61966-2.1. That's a temporary measure, the real fix is to use a calibrator to make a new profile. But sRGB is often good enough for many.
