I have a halftone pencil drawing on white paper.

I scanned it into photoshop.

Can I remove the white backfround so the  drawing is on a transparent layer,

leaving all the ubtleties in the halftone drawing on the new, transparent layer?

Thanks John

A simpler method depending on the art:

1. Unlock the background layer (click the lock icon).

2. Select>Color Range and select either sampled colors (white) or highlights

3. Mask the selection (alt/opt click the mask button on Layers panel).

Please provide the image.

• Load the luminosity (cmd-click the composite Channel in the Channels Panel)

• Select > Inverse

• Layer > New Fill Layer > Solid Color

• hide the original Layer
