Question

Scratch disk error

I just recently started using photoshop 2023 on my laptop, currently on the latest available update. The problem is that my scratch disk is full. I would like to change my scratch disk from local to one drive because my laptop's storage space is so small I cannot run Photoshop. I can't open photoshop to change preferences because, according to the application, I do not have enough space to open it. I might be stuck in an error loop that I have a problem that in order to fix I would need to resolve the problem.

Any advice would be appreciated.

@Grant325387611kqd you can't set the scratch disk to one drive, it has to be a physical disk, with only 5GB of free space on the C drive you're going to run into issues on an OS level never mind Photoshop

OneDrive is not suitable for scratch it is not a real drive but uses an internet connection to copy files to the 'cloud'. The scratch disk needs to be on a fast connected drive, preferably internal which will be faster and not be subject to dodgy connections,  but you may be able to use an external drive if it is formatted correctly.
