Scratch Disks are full on a brand new laptop?

Hey,

photoshop says scratch disks are full, but I have a brand new Macbook Pro 13 with the M1 chip with 256GB. I checked my storage and I have over 100GB free... What shall I do?

Try the troubleshooting here:

Does this happen when you launch PS or when you open one particular file?

You have the latest version for M1?

Keep in mind that Photoshop needs 3x5 times EACH open document's size in RAW. How large are the images and does this happen even with small sized images?

There is nothing wrong or 'bad' per se if you hit scratch disk, it just means you don't have enough RAM to hold the image(s).

You might need to get yourself an external drive (SSD ideally) that is empty and can be assigned as a Scratch Disk.
