Script to Add Copyright to Image as text

Hello,

We have a large collection of images that all have different copyright holders. This copyright holder's name is in the "ITPC-Creator" metadata field for all images.

How can I create a script (preferably javascript) that can:

1. Read the metadata (ITPC-Creator) of the image currently open.
2. Create a new text layer on that image.
3. Add the ITPC-Creator as text to the image.

Once I know how to do that, I can compose an action that will automatically style each photo's copyright line according to a pre-defined style.
