Seeing distance measurement as I readjust a graphic

I am traveling and have a small query. Not being home I can't compare settings to my desktop right now.

I have created a psd page where I am placing layers of a small graphic along a line. I duplicate the last layer placed the move it to the right, level with the others (crazy process but it works for my project). On my home machine when the grapgic is equidistant of the other layers a measurement appears and shows me. On my laptop I can't find the setting to replicate that and that is what I am seeking.

I know all about just putting things on a page then aligning them but this project needs to be done a bit different. I hope my query made sense...it's hard to explain but I just want to see the measurements.

Thanks for any suggestions.

Chuck....are you a Christmas Angel? Perfect answer. I had tried everything else to show but not Smart Guides.

Thanks so much. Now I can finish my projects on the road.
