Seeing text size changes in updated Photoshop CC

Question

I updated Photoshop CC just last week. Before, when I placed text on an image and selected it, I could select the Font Size and simply hit the up or down arrow and it would increase or decrease the font size number AND I COULD VIEW THE INCREASED/DECREASED TEXT SIZE as I changed the number using the up or down arrow. The same with the other text functions (leading. etc).

Now, the Font Size number changes, but the text itself remains the same as original until I GUESS at a font size number. If it's not right, I have to select the font size again, hit enter, then see if it's OK. This takes a lot more time now. So much so that I waited on the phone to speak with a lady who said there are issues with the Windows 7. We have some sort of Business-style Windows 7.

So I uninstalled the updated version, re-installed the prior version as the lady suggested.

NOTHING CHANGED - So now I am unsure if it has anything to do with the operating system? Is there a control that allows you to see the text and other character changes in real time as you make these changes?

Thank you. What a drag.

The program worked fine before, I wish they would slow down with updates - it's always seemed a good idea to update when there's one available, but it's getting ridiculous. I want to bring my laptop to work now - my Photoshop Elements is awesome and doesn't keep changing all the time.
